The farmnivorous store
farmnivorous is an online store and shopping community focused on locally grown or made food.
The farmnivorous online store is unique and special in the way it simplifies managing an online store for collaborative markets and a focus on local selling across multiple pickup and delivery channels.
Members can easily join each others' pickup and delivery venues to create collaborative online markets. Customers browse products from all participating vendors in a single online store with one shopping cart and checkout experience. Meanwhile behind the scenes, farmnivorous processes the sales for each contributing vendor separately such that everyone's proceeds are delivered right to their own bank accounts by Stripe.
How it works in a nutshell
In your Product Catalog, input photos, descriptions, and sizes for your products individually or all at once by uploading a spreadsheet. Note that images must be uploaded individually, however.
In your Inventory Management page, set the price and amount for each size of each product. For venues that repeat weekly, here is also where you can set whether the inventory count resets each week or carries over.
On your Venues & Dates page, create your own venues or search for venues managed and shared by others, like a farmers market. For each venue you create, you set the date and time of the pickup or delivery window, as well as when ordering opens and closes for that venue. For recurring weekly venues, like a farmers market, check a box to auto-schedule each week. If you offer delivery, restrict order placement by zip code and optionally charge a delivery or ordering fee.
On your Sales & Customers page, see sales by customer or download your sales data to a csv file. For each venue with sales, leverage the pick list, packing slips, and more to prepare for fulfillment. If you are a market coordinator, use the packing list to gather products from each contributing vendor in order to offer curbside for customers in need.
On your Vendor Profile page, upload your logo, a photo for your store banner, manage your customer-facing information and connect a Stripe account.

Credit Cards & Stripe
Every vendor account requires an account with Stripe, though we are designing alternative solutions. If you don't have a Stripe account, we'll take you to Stripe where the process to open one can take just a few minutes... assuming you have your business tax ID and bank details in hand.
Even in the free tier, it is Stripe who processes the credit cards and your sales will be subject to their rules and fees.
There is no fee to have a Stripe account and connect it to farmnivorous, but Stripe will deduct their standard transaction fees before depositing your sales proceeds into your bank account.
farmnivorous is not designed to have access to your bank account and stripe account beyond processing the original transaction. Refunds, for example, would be managed in your Stripe Account. Farmnivorous does not need or want your banking details apart from connecting your Stripe account.
While farmnivorous currently requires enabling the customer to pay with a credit card, it also delays final processing to you and also enables the host of the venue to allow customers to place an order without paying online. Some markets use this feature to enable online ordering by customers who use SNAP at the market.
